Yipppee! Our very first meal delivery

Hmmm...so today was the day. 9 meals delivered to an elearning company in Malleswaram. Everything worked liked clockwork. Lunch cooked on time, packaged as expected and delivered. Must say it was like building software, releasing it and hoping for no bugs. :) The food was appreciated. The feedback from some was to reduce the quantity of rice, others to increase it. It's tough pleasing everyone. Nevertheless, it's fun. Overall the feedback was that the lunch was tasty and filling. All in all a long day, turning in for the night now. I guess I am going to dream of random lunch combos. ;) More meals to be delivered tomorrow.

Yeh hai Bangalore meri jaan!

Went to Avenue road and its by lanes today. Shell shocked seeing the crowd, the traffic, the noise! I never knew this part of my city. I am so ashamed of myself. The reason for me being there this afternoon was to buy the food containers and the rest of the stuff. Checked out a few of the shops. Haggled and bargained. Surprised myself doing so. And felt like an idiot when I got home. The shop keeper put a maha topi on me. Gave me half the number of containers and billed me for all of them. Need a lot to learn. Moral of the story: shopping at a mall is different from shopping in such areas. Count, recount and count again. Spent the rest of the Diwali evening on the phone with the shop keeper trying to figure out how to get the stuff exchanged. These guys have an exchange policy: only after 2 PM. Monday...another crazy day. Good Night!

www.gethomefood.com

Frankly, this was not the launch I expected. I dreamt of a huge dance floor, uncorking a champagne bottle and hot models walking a ramp. I guess I expect a lot. LOL. Anyways we went live with our site today. Man oh man! The response to it is amazing with emails and smses pouring in from all over. Wow! My heartfelt thanks to all our well wishers. It has been quite a day I must say. A lot happening. All for the good. Now we get down to the real work of delivering good home food. I guess we'll have to postpone the celebrations just a bit. And yes, our number now is 99452 61048.

Hot models for lunch

Yes, you read the title right. We did have some very hot models for lunch today and we literally ate them off the plate. ;) Let me explain. After a long time I finally convinced my friend Shiv to do the photo shoot for our website. By the way, Shiv is from Paramount Creatives, the guys who have designed our website. We had decided earlier on that we would be using the pictures of food items that we would be serving to the customers of Get Home Food and not rely on some free images available over the net. This way people get to see what they would eventually get.

For the photo shoot, it was decided to have a meal combo and the various snacks & sweets. The cooks went into a flurry of excitement days prior to the shoot fretting over what to cook, the ingredients, the utensils to be used etc. Finally every thing was in place. Err...well almost, we didn't consider the fact that models do throw tantrums at times. So on the D day, we had our show stoppers, the Bhaturas acting up. They refused to remain puffed up and went flat every time they were brought out of the kitchen.

After a few takes, thankfully we did get the pictures right.

The shoot turned out to be a fun affair with friends pitching in to do their bit. Though I feel that the real incentive was the lunch that was to follow. ;) Thank you Asha, for holding the thermacol sheet to reflect the light in the right direction.

Finally after putting in hours of hard work, we treated ourselves to a sumptious lunch spread of.......Hot Models. ;)

(To eat or not to eat? That's the question)
