Dosti isi ka naam hai...

Over the past few days we have been on the lookout for delivery personnel to service the various locations in Bangalore. Spread the word among people, posted ads on the net. Got responses, met people and got to know a lot of things in the bargain. For one thing I detest the words "work out" now. Sample this...negotiate with people, the standard response would be "work out agalla sir" (translation: it's not feasible sir). The words detest me so much that I feel like punching my gym trainer when he asks me "so what's your work out today?", except for the fact that he weighs 10 times more than me. Can't take my chance you see! ;)

Anyways among the many responses to our ads was one from an engineering student who we shall call Abhishek. So Abhishek calls me one afternoon and I hear a guy speaking fluent English saying he's so and so and would be interested in the delivery job. Talking to him I began to get a feeling that some one's playing a prank on me. This is not the US after all where kids do take up such jobs. After the usual talk and small talk I ask him to come and meet me. He agrees. I think about it and conclude that maybe he's looking for some extra pocket money.

After a week or so we eventually met up today and the obvious question I ask him is why was he interested in such a job. Expecting the usual answers, I sat back. The next thing he says made me almost fall off my chair. He tells me that he wants this job to help out a friend. I would not get into the details here. But man, was I impressed! There is this chap who should be out studying, partying, doing the usual things that kids do, but heck no! He's going all out of his way to help out a friend in need. How many of us would do such a thing (honestly I don't think I myself would)? I thought kids these days are all about themselves, but people like Abhishek makes one think otherwise.

Abhishek, Hats Off to you man! And yes, we would be honoured having you working with us at Get Home Food.
